HF 2194 - Types of businesses exempt from paying employees minimum wage
Minimum wage requirements, which were amended in January 2007, don't apply to businesses whose annual gross volume of sale is less than $300,000.
However, businesses that launder, clean or repair fabrics or clothing, construction and reconstruction businesses, institutions engaged in caring for the sick, aged or the mentally ill, schools for persons with mental or physical disabilities or for gifted children, preschools, elementary and secondary schools, as well as institutions of higher education and public agencies are all responsible for following the amended minimum wage requirements, regardless of their gross volume of sales.
