Slow-pitch softball opportunities draw near

             Are you staying in La Crosse for the summer? Are you looking to have a good time while soaking up the sun? Well, you can now sign up for summer softball leagues through the La Crosse Parks and Recreation. If you participated in the league last year, you have until March 18 to register again. New teams will be able to start signing up on March 22 and it is a first come, first serve basis. Entry fees must be paid in full at time of registration. All payments and registration must be made in person at the Parks and Recreation office, located on the first floor of City Hall. Leagues range from $300-$315 per team.

            After you turn in your registration money, you will need to collect the roster form. The next step is to collect proof of residency and non-resident money. Non-residents must pay $25 for every team they are on. The final step is attending the mandatory captains meeting. Captains meetings start the week of April 12. League nights are Monday through Friday and include men’s, women’s, and co-rec. Games will begin on Monday, April 26. If you have any further questions you can call 608-789-7533.
